Talking with friends and tour-mates in Amsterdam, surrounded by water, On August 28th, 2015, about Hurricane Katrina, and the great flood the Dutch experienced in 1953, my birth year, I suddenly got overwhelmed when describing the symbol that the search and rescue teams would put on the front of houses. Caught me completely by surprise, after all this time.
After throwing everything out from my mom’’s house, our childhood home, three of my sister’s houses, gutting and repairing two of them, and doing the same with my rehearsal building, I wrote this song and put it on my “Guitarworks” CD
Most people didn’t get what it was about when they heard it, so, maybe not such a great job, but here it is....
“Everything Must Go”
